Everything you need to prepare for your Alaska real estate exam and launch your career.

Exam Prep Tips

The Alaska real estate exam is administered by Pearson VUE. Here's what to expect and how to prepare.

1

Know the National vs. State Portions

The exam has two parts: a national portion covering general real estate principles and a state portion covering Alaska-specific laws and regulations. Budget your study time accordingly.  On your Pearson Vue exam, you must pass both parts at the same time.

2

Focus on Math

Expect 10–15 math questions covering commission calculations, prorations, loan-to-value ratios, and area calculations. Practice these until they're automatic.

3

Understand Consumer Relationships

Consumer representation in Alaska does not include dual agency.  Make sure you understand Alaska's license law regarding designated licensees.

4

Review Alaska Statutes

Alaska Statute Title 08, Chapter 88 governs real estate licensees. Familiarize yourself with licensing requirements, disciplinary procedures, and prohibited practices.

5

Take Practice Exams

Simulate test conditions by taking timed practice exams. Identify weak areas and revisit those topics in your course materials before exam day.

6

Schedule Early

Pearson VUE testing centers can fill up quickly. Schedule your exam as soon as you feel ready — don't wait until the last minute.
